Clare’s Kitchen is a bespoke catering company that provides superb food with exemplary service. Now in its fourth delicious decade, Clare’s Kitchen caters for everything from dinner parties to large scale events.
Clare’s Kitchen has its origins in the warm glow of the Cornish sunshine at the Sailing Club, where Clare opened her first cafe back in 1972. At first making just a sandwich a day, word of the quality soon spread and in no time she was serving 300 contented customers every day.
London called along with Clare’s ambition to grow her fledgling business. Peter Sellers and Sir Donald Sinden were her first customers and helped spread the word to an ever longer list of satisfied clients. New premises had to be found. The perfect site presented itself in Primrose Hill. It may have had grass growing out of the walls, a tramp in the basement and been totally derelict but undeterred Clare went about renovating. Clare’s Kitchen came into being and quickly won a devoted local following that grew rapidly across the Capital. Clare’s Kitchen was called into action by an impressive range of private and corporate clients, from actors to lawyers to sporting events like the British Grand Prix to much of Whitehall.
More recently Cecilia has joined up with Clare after ditching her job as a City Lawyer and seeking refuge at the stove. Together with a small team of cooks they run a busy kitchen catering for dinner parties, large-scale events, weddings and everything else in between. They have won a reputation for being a ‘safe pair of hands,’ ‘providing a charming service’, ‘always going the extra mile and providing first class bespoke food’.
